"It's probably nothing to worry about."

The doctor said it twice.

Once while looking at the screen.

Once while walking her to the door.

One number was slightly outside the range.

Not alarming.

Not urgent.

Repeat the test in six months.

She thanked him.

Paid at reception.

Answered three emails in the lift.

By 2:41 she was back at her desk.

At three, the planning meeting started.

Someone was presenting next year's expansion schedule.

A new office.

Two hires.

A system migration.

She took notes.

"We don't need to decide that now," someone said.

"We can always deal with it next year."

The conversation moved on.

She looked at the date in the corner of her screen.

Then at the calendar icon.

Six months suddenly didn't look very far away.
